So yesterday was a depressing day in history, so I skipped it. A litany of not-great. Today...
The French Revolutionary wars began today in 1792 when France, three years after its Revolution, declared war! on Austria, Prussia and Sardinia. In this era, many heads rolled (or bounced, the guillotine could do that) and eventually Napoleon seized power and these wars led into the Napoleonic era wars. Basically, it was gonna be a lonng 25-ish years for anyone in striking distance of France ----- and Russia got the last laugh as always b/c there is only one place dumber to invade by land war than Southeast Asia. And it's Russia. If the cold doesn't get you, the crappy land will, the extended supply train will, etc etc etc
In 1916, the Chicago Cubs played theri frist game in Wrigley Field. (They won.)
In 1961, FM stereo broadcasting was approved by the FCC in the US.
And in 1940, the first electron microscope was first demonstrated by RCA and we still use electron microscopy tto study tiny things today!

Well, after I started getting headaches, I gave up on any advancement and ranks in the Navy. I just stayed to finish my 4 year contract. I was not used to all of the people coming together...
