Poor littl thing has colic, of course that means NO SLEEP for some of us. ME. SO lately I have really been in a bitchy mood.
Of course a dr wont approve of anything like gripe water or pepperiment. Dr said give her 1/4 tsp of milk of mag daily in a bottle.
I been reading on here and some give cripe water but saw where it was recalled in 2007, because it caused infections.
Someone said take peppermint. I assume that means peppermint oil from the health food store and just a drop.
Any suggestions?
I have tried al the ideas from the babycenter web site except the water and peppermint. Shes only a month old so hesitant about somethings.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I been getting alot of info off the net and esp at HowStuffWorks. but they dont have an age you can give tea to a baby,
But at this point try anything if it doesnt harm her.
Thanks for answering
The warm towel is excellent idea. Baby may need change of formula. I would google it and see what you can find out.
PS daughter is STILL an air swallower at age 41! She can burp like a champ. lol
It always helped, must of been the heat, noise, vibration.
Good Luck!
I appreciate all the good advice.
Got alot of good advice this morning about 4am at HowThingsWork.com
My son had that problem for the first 6 months of his life. It always worked for him, and then he would fall asleep. I have to warn you though, that when you're massaging, be sure to put a large towel underneath her, as the gas and feces will sometimes come shooting out. Like I said, it sounds gross, but it works, and you don't have to worry about side effects.
I hope it will work for you, I know how much agony she's in, thereby causing you pain and stress. I will keep you both in my thoughts.
I think it really is something else going on, Its like when she is taking her bottle she is in pain and afterwards she had so much gas, hiccups and we burp her. But she just settles down to get to sleep and she has this bad stomach cramping, ITs only after she eats, Then after awhile she can go to sleep.
We have the gripe water and tables and sometimes they help and sometimes dont phase her.
I just hate to see such a little baby be in so much pain in her stomach,
Bless her little heart and upsets me more the dr just says colic and forgets it.
I think Colic is a dr way os saying they dont know what is wrong and why the baby is in pain so they named it Colic.
We have one of the best childrens hosp in the USA, I think we should have her tested down there for acid reflux or see if something else is going on.
When your children had colic did they have cramping pains in their stomach after every bottle they had? Thanks again
