I'd like to ask if anyone here has ever experienced a "frozen shoulder" and what did you do for/about it?
My right shoulder "froze" a couple months ago and now my left is showing the same signs. My primary doc has mentioned surgery and forced mobilization (which I researched and it gives me the heebee jeebees!)
I read up on what the Triggerpoint book has to say and it looks very promising.I plan on giving this method a go because I want to avoid the OR at any cost!!!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
And pain? Oh, buddy, yeah! It can feel as if the muscles of my upper arms are being ripped off of the bone. Sometimes the muscles feel as if they're cramping severely and I end up with "knots" in them. It's quite hard to get comfortable enough to sleep because I'm (of course!) a side-sleeper. Lying on my back is difficult to because of the way my shoulders feel pulled down/yanked as my body tries to settle down into a resting position.
The thought of surgery isn't pleasant, but I could deal with that, if absolutely necessary. What's really scary is the "forced mobilization" technique. What that is basically, is that they take you into the O.R., knock you out, then FORCE your arms to move around again! I can only imagine just how bad it would hurt afterwards in a "normal" person... but add Fibro into the mix?! Hels no! Not unless it's my only option!!! =:o
Have thought about it, but insurance doesn't cover such "luxeries." And finances are kinda tight right now as I just found out 10 minutes ago that our furnace is basically F**Ked!
That's why I like the idea of the triggerpoint therapy. It's something I can do by myself, without having the hassle of getting out to someone's office and all that hassle. Just taking a shower kicks my butt!
