After 10 years of suffering I finally started on Xyrem, a medication that allows your body to have stage 4 sleep. That is the deficiency in Fibromyalgia sufferers. While the Xyrem helped and cured me of all symptoms (inability to walk, constant pain, IBS ...) it was difficult to administer.
About a month ago I started on Mirapex and settled on 1mg. I now get 6 - 6 1/2 hours straight sleep and wake up refreshed. It also promotes Stage 4 sleep. I am totally cured after being totally disabled after 10 years of pain.
Please look up info on any medication that promotes stage 4 sleep.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I will ask him about this drug the next time I'm in his office.
Though everyone is different and have different symptoms and various reactions to each, it's certain something to think about, research and consider.
Thank you for the information.
Okay, I'm happy for your, but I'm offended by your attitude. What works for one, does not always work for another. What helps one can make another sicker. If you had been around these parts and read our stories, you would get that.
I agree that there is a sleep disorder aspect to this disease. I'm happy your cured. I'll check into the medication. But don't come on this board making a blanket claim about this crappy disease being cured.

I'm glad it works for you though. I hope it keeps up.
I have to say that I now take seroquil and sleep better than i have in years. However im still in pain, just like i was before starting the seroquil. The only change in me is that i am sleeping like a rock, all my fibro pain is still here every day 24-7 even with getting a great nights sleep.
