Why is it that we get "FM fog". I have never understood that part of this...is it the drugs we take or just a mental thing we all have in common. Today my daughter went to a play in hollywood and I forgot
1) to feed her lunch...
2) give her binoculars so she could see what is going on.
The minute I went and dropped her off the parents said did you feed her a good lunch...I said no sorry then they said did you bring the binoculars?? and I said no...
They did call on Thursday to tell me all these things and I even wrote them down but I forgot where I put the note "FM Fog" strikes again. I just felt like such a fool. I told them I had FM fog and they looked at me like I was nuts. I just turned around ran out the door ran home got her something to eat and grabbed the binoculars. I went back said I was sorry a hundred times but it just doesn't matter. When you have an 8 year old you need to stay on top of things but I can't even run my own life let alone my daughters. I called the hubby and told him that I can never be put in charge of anything that is important again. It makes me feel like a 2 year old but I guess better that than looking like a complete moron in front of my kids friends parents.
I am just wondering if anyone out there knows why FM fog happens. I have never asked that quesiton but feel I need to find an answer so I can try and make it better!!!
Thanks for listening,
V

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Fibro fog happens for a variety of reasons, but mainly it's due to the neurotransmitters that control our brain being out of wack. If I recall correctly, it's a lack of CO2 and nitric oxide that prevent us from encoding short-term memories.
The best thing I've found to treat all aspects of fibro is with amino acids. I've been doing this for about 8 weeks now and other than weakness due to severe anemia, I'm starting to feel normal again after being sick for 25 years.
Here's an article that's very informative and helpful. http://www.drmurphreestore.com/newsletters_letters/healthnews3_21_07.html
Dr. Murphree's book, Treating and Beating Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is the best book on fibro I've come across. He treats it from an orthomolecular point of view meaning he uses supplements to fix the various systems that are out of wack, allowing the body to begin functioning normally again.
Another great book is Heal With Amino Acid and Nutrients by by Billie Sahley, Ph.D. and Kathy Birkner, C.R.N.A., Ph.D. http://www.painstresscenter.com/mall/Book-AminoAcids.asp

I was doing catering orders for a restaurant I worked in, and was standing next to a table, writing something on a paper on it. I turned to my boss and said "I need to get some bags to put all these salads in" and he said "do you do that on purpose?" and I looked on the table I was WRITING on, and saw that they were all in bags...
Another incident, today, actually, my stepdad told me to disconnect the boat from the truck... so I went over there, took the lock off, then pulled up on the hitch, not realizing there was a crank to do it, and the wheel was not on the ground (so suddenly I had 600 pounds in my hands). He comes up and says "There's a crank!" It was so obvious...
I dyed my hair back to brown from blonde and still get called a dumb blond, LOL! I tell them it's not the color of my hair, its the brain under it that can't remember shit! My Mom teases me all the time and says my mind works as good as hers, shes 63! Shes always been a little out of it when It came to remembering things too. No, she doesn't have Fibro, LOL!
A splash here and a splash there, it's color coded. I spend each evening before bed going over the next day's events. Then I write down a to do list and cross off only what I accomplished so I can add it to the next day. It has made me more organized and I have limited more of what I use to think I could fit in. I do only necessities now. Hopefully this will help somehow.
Best wishes for clearer days ahead.

I used to just "laugh it off" or make excuses. Would someone laugh at a person with Epilepsy having a seizure? or what about the person with cancer having hair loss? No, because some people don't take FM seriously or what we go through.
Not having a good night so pretty cynical right now. :(
Things I've done or had done to me were: leaving house with 2 different colour shoes on (was on Neurontin when I did that), forgetting people's names, forgot to pick my kids up or drop stuff off, missed appts, and more.
The very worst experience I had was from one ex-employer. He "phoned me" about 5 times from his cell phone and when I answered the regular phone, they'd all burst out laughing. I couldn't figure out what they were doing as I was knee deep (concentrating) in paperwork. No, these were not young people...just ignorant ones.
I wish all the symptons were the same for everyone. I think the changes make everyone feel lonely with this illness.
