I just got my first denial for disability. I know it sounds kind of weird but I am excited. Only because I know this is a long process and I am just anxious to get this whole thing seriously started. I am currently on Temporary Disability Assistance Program (TDAP). Which means I am getting a very small check every month while I file for disability. Social Services referred me to someone who would help me file for disabilty so I wont have to do it myself. Basically he said he could assist me through the whole process even file my appeal. Well the thing is I dont know if I should continue to use him at this point or go ahead and get a disability lawyer. A lot of the law offices dont even want to help until you have been denied once. So what do you all think I should do? Keep using the guy appointed to me through social services or get a lawyer?
