Hello all. Sorry it's been a while since I've been on but I've been having a hard time lately between colds and normal Fibro stuff...
anyway... I'm looking over an article that Wonderbaby gave me and I'm wondering...
How many of you fight your FM naturally and don't take any meds?

I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...

Valerian helps some people with sleep. For others it makes them relaxed for a short while, then makes them stay awake. Earplugs, absolute darkness, and quiet if you can get it and some peronalized version of counting sheep (basically just staying in bed, telling yourself to relax, then boring/hypnotizing yourself asleep. I used to fall asleep in college EVERY time I read my chemistry book. (Needless to say, I didn't do well in that class, as I couldn't stay awake to study!) Lots of sleep is good. I used to need 10 hours. Now, I can get by with 8-9 hrs.
Magnesium is an essential mineral in the body needed for cell metabolism. It works best in balance with calcium. Magnesium and calcium help muscles relax.
Heat is good, too and exercise. If you can't afford a spa, dress very warmly and go for a walk in a nice place. The dancing by yourself inside sounds good, too. No one to watch you, just movely slowly around, moving the arms, too...
I hate Ben-gay. It makes me feel cold. If one had money and was re-doing their house or having a new one built, I'd definately consider heated floors. This is usually done with hot water running through small pipes all under the floor. They now have a system for 2nd stories, also. The few times I got to walk on one of these floors (barefoot, of course, even in winter) I thought: "This is the way I want to live". But I haven't been able to, of course. Who with fibro has any money unless they inherited a bundle? Its too hard to work! Employers are not too understanding. Lots of people with fibro have foot pain. I do sometimes now and my feet are usually cold, too, even if the air is 75 degrees and the floor carpeted. Carpets are not used with heated floors. Fibro people with a formaldehyde allergy will just feel sicker with a carpet anyway, unless its several years old and then it may cause dust & mold problems.
