Hi all. I'm fairly new to this community. Monday, I was put on 30 mg Cymbalta for my depression & Fibro by my Neurologist. I have only taken 2 pills, as I was just put on them on Monday. I feel lightheaded, dizzy,& VERY shaky, like I'm going to throw up, etc. I feel "loopy" a lot of the times. I have a couple questions that I would like to ask.
1) Has anyone experienced these side affects?
2) Have they lessened or subsided after being on them for a little bit?
3)Has the Cymbalta helped for the depression & the pain from Fibro & how long did it take for the meds to start working?
3)I also have a headache. Did many of you get a headache from this?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!~!
Your imput is GREATLY appreciated!~!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
And Plus It Made Me Gain Like 30 Pounds In One Month Which Obviously Didnt Help With My Depression, And Once I Quit Taking It
I Got Back To My Nomal Weight
But Thats Just How It Was With Me
Some People
Thought It Helped Them
The side effect that you are speaking of seem to be expected if you are new to antidepressants.
I was put on immuran after a bout of autoimmune hepatitis and I really do believe that it has helped my pain tremendously. It's just not a drug the Doc is going to prescribe readily.
I can't take Cymbalta or any other antidepressant because they all cause very painful, prolonged muscle contracture & seizure-like episodes in which my legs and arms start kicking/ twitching/jerking for up to 2 hrs at a time.
And to increase the insanity... the docs keep trying to put me on the damned things.
The pills never made me sick, tho. And they did help w/ the depression...but the trade-off's just not worth it.

1- yes I had these side effects
2- they DID lessen very quickly for me.
3- yes, the Cymbalta has helped for the depression adn pain and it took a couple of weeks....
3) I don't remember a headache, but it is one of the side effects I'm pretty sure.
I am still on it. I actually take 120 mgs a day. I'm doing pretty well with it. It's not the wonder drug, but it DOES work a bit better than other antidepressants that I've been on.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I started on Cymbalta about 3 months ago. The first 2 weeks I thought I had found the magic pill sort ta speak. Anyway about 2 months into it I started getting tired and feeling sick. I didn't think it could be the Cymbalta so I kept taking it. I got really bad to the point I couldn't get out of bed.
One day about a week ago someone posted a web site where you can look up side effects from people like you and me. I went on put in Cymbalta and OMG their it was. I stopped the Cymbalta with my doc's approval and I feel like myself again. Not to say thats a great thing but at least I can get up everyday.
The website has been a life saver and I going to give it to you. I hope you can get to it tthis way if not message me and will figure it out.
There are so so many bad things and scary things about Cymbalta you really need to be careful...please.
No joke that stuff should be taken off the market.
The web site is:
http://www.askapatient.com.
I really hope you can get there it is very important for you to understand what this drug does to you.
Best of luck,
