I was watching TV & it was getting close to bedtime, so I took my pills. I usually take 2 flexeril, but I only had 1 left, gotta go to pharmacy tomorrow. So I took 1 flexeril, 1 neurontin 300mg, 1 mg klonopin. I took a 2nd hydrocodone tonight because I was hurting so much. Feels like my left knee is giving out again; must not have rested it long enough.
Anyways, with that cocktail, I would have thought I'd be dead asleep by now. I took an hour long nap around 5:00, when we got home from inlaws, cause I was dead on my feet. Hubby woke me at 6:00, I was still tired, but I got up. Took care of baby, put her to bed, munched on a little leftover ham, and collapsed on the couch to watch my tv shows. I was watching tv till about 12:00, when I realized my husband forgot to put the turkey in the sink with cold water cause it was still partially frozen. Hubby was tired, so I told him if he put the turkey in, I'd stay up & put it back in fridge. I started picking up a few out of place things, saw the dog treat canister on the counter & decided to dump the doggy treats since we no longer have a dog. Opened the lid & there were bugs inside. Eewww! And this is embarassing, but it was a ceramic crock, and it was stuck to the counter. I don't know if it was formula or what, but I couldn't get it to move, so I had to spray some orange oil cleaner on it, and I finally managed to get it off the counter & put it in the garage. Then I realized that I had FORGOTTEN to make the pumpkin pies for tomorrow. I was thinking I'd make them in the morning, but forgot the turkey would be in the oven. Duh! So I had to make the pies. By that time, I guess I got into a groove or something, because I cleaned up the whole kitchen. It was a mess! It's now almost 4:30 & I still don't feel really sleepy....maybe a bit drowsy. I know I've got to get to bed now!
Anyways, this is strange for me. I usually have no problem sleeping, and I was feeling pretty bad earlier. So my guess is it must have been that 2nd hydrocodone I took....my SIL took hydrocodone once & it kept her up all night. It doesn't usually bother me like that though. So it was the meds, or oddly enough, maybe I suddenly slipped into a manic episode?? I had a psychiatrist tell me once that he thought I might be bipolar, but instead of having those happy, energetic highs, my highs were more irritation & mood swings & I clean when I get upset or angry. My down is obviously depression, which is where I'm at most of the time. I thought the doc was full of it, because it sure didn't feel like bipolar to me. If I'm gonna be bipolar, at least I could have GOOD manic episodes instead of the horrid mood swings & irritability. (I have been very emotional lately) So either that doc was right & I actually am a rapid cycler bipolar who got manic tonight, or my meds are messing with me & instead of putting me to sleep, they're keeping me up. Uggh, I hate all this crap. At least my kitchen is clean & the pies are done...I left a note for my hubby to let me sleep in & a list of the most important things to do when he gets up, #1 being turkey in oven. :) I'm gonna try to go to sleep now.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I totally understand how you feel. My sleep schedule is all out of whack. not because my bio clock is off but because of the pain etc. It may be bipolar however, for me, when I start doing something I get so OCD because of my ADD that I have to finish. it always seems to be more things to do. Emotionally and mentally I can not stop till its done. And so when I have the energy I go crazy. So when those painful down times hit, I don't have to worry because I have everything done. but remember with having a kid and a husband and this being the holidays it can drive anyone crazy!! Cut yourself some slack. And as far as the bipolar thing goes, if your doc really feels and you do also that it maybe somethin that is going on they have tests you take for that. It is usualy given in interview form from a mental health care professional not a PCP. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. I hope you get restful and peaceful sleep. We love you. And we are here anytime you need us!

The other thing that can be really helpful if your sleeping patterns are disrupted, is to stay up all night, do not take naps during the day and go to bed at your normal time. This helps reset your body clock. My doc had me do this and it is really helpful.
