Today was a scary day. I've been feeling overly exhausted & worn out for the last week or so. Bad weather, extra stress, you name it. I was driving home today & dozed off for just a second while I was driving. It was really scary. I don't know what to do. There has GOT to be something the doctor can do to help me with this. I have to drive my son to school & home every day. There is no bus, I have to do this. I can't be falling asleep driving though. I have been sleeping as much as possible lately, a few days I've slept most of the day, only waking up to take care of the baby & then going back to the couch or bed.
Is there anything out there besides Provigil? I really need something, and I need it NOW. My doctor didn't want to give me provigil for some reason. I think I need to find a new doctor, one more willing to work with me, who's a little more up to date with fibro treatments.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I'll have to check on adrenal testing...don't know if I've had that one done or not. I'm fairly certain I've been tested for everything in the book, between my GP, my rheumy & my internist. I'm taking one of my husband's sleeping pills tonight & going to bed early. I really hate to go back on sleeping pills, because I do take so many sedating pills already. Evidently though, despite the fact that they put me to sleep, they're not putting me into a deep sleep. I may just break down & go to a new sleep doctor & have him do another sleep study. He'd probably give me the provigil.
It does give me headaches and I talked to my doctor today about it. We came up with a plan but the bottom line was he said he had some other things he could try. So there is something I'm just not sure what it is yet.
You sound like you do have narcolepize and you should see about being tested for it. That might make him give it to you. Hope you find something that helps soon.

I am in beside him tossing and turning with my Fibro Flare, jaws clinching, elbow, knees, wrists, shoulder, hips and ankles in spasm... What to do What to do.... pray to GOd that I can nudge hubby and he will move ever so slightly and at least turn down the octave of his breathing!!!
That is how I spend a night with Fibro Flare..
Even my king size tempurpedic mattress is unable to relieve the pain and suffering of hubbys snoring.
