How many of you have a blood-related family member with Fibro? My grandmother had it. The docs thought that she had lupus, but that was back in the 50's and towards the end of her life, she was still so, so sick, and the lupus tests came up negative. So either she had lupus, RA, and fibro, or RA and Fibro. She died in '94, before Fibro was really very well known. My mother and my aunt (her two girls) both say that I am much worse off than she was, and they truly believe that is what she had. I don't believe the docs when they say it's not genetic, because I believe it is.
Do you have anyone in your family with it?

i do not have anyone in my family with it. My sister and I believe she has it but has not gotten dx. She has so many synptoms that I have. I will let you know as soon as she is seen by a rheumatologist.

Looking back, it seems that my grandmother had it but was never diagnosed. She's been gone 26 years so that right there tells you she had it long before anyone knew anything about it on any large scale.

my sister had it before me (she is 43 and I am 29), and my mother has gotten it this past year. she is 64. my mom and i believe that her mother may have also had it. she had many medical problems and was continually oppressed and harassed by my grandfather, who believed she should work every bit as hard as he wanted her to, no matter what. i strongly believe there is a hereditary link. i can find no other way to explain how three, possibly four women in my immediate family have it also.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
