I was wondering what you do for your pain besides your prescription meds. When the weather starts to change and the tempertures go down. My pain levals go up. It really makes me feel like my muscles are curling up and contricting. My doc. says I should take more Ibprophen, but that makes me sick to my stomach alot. I get cold and cant get warm. It really slows down my life and makes it hard to get things done that I need.
Any one have any suggestions or tricks they use?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Layers of clothes work better than one heavy item, then as you warm up you can peel off the layers. Hope this helps. Hugs Owlxx
Also, magnesium helps control the muscle spasms.
Oh! And I drink lots of hot tea or cocoa
The amino acids are used by the brain to produce neurotransmitters which are sadly out of wack in our brains and cause the host of truly strange symptoms that make us look so foolish.
Two amino acids in pactiular that are worth noting:
5-HTP is used to produce serotonin. Low serotonin levels which most of us have allow the neurotransmitter Substance P, the neurotransmitter of pain, to get out of control. This explains why something as simple as wearing a bra can be painful--the Substance P amplifies what normally isn't painful making it appear to be so.
DL-phenylalanine is used by the brain to produce both norepinephrine and dopamine and is a natural pain killer. It works by keeping endorphins from being reabsorbed since they're natural pain killers. I've been taking it for about 6 weeks now and am noticing how much less pain I'm in which is saying something considering the miserable storms we've just had. In previous years I was in absolute agony when the weather got like it was last week.
I have a hot tub, but its outside.
I love baths with epston salts
I have a gas fireplace, on sit on this bean bag chair with my feet sticking in the fire.
Believe it or not....when its freezing with no pesipatation in the air, thats when I feel the best....summer humidity kills me more than cold does
