I was wondering whether anyone has heard of the Fibro treatment, Effirma? It has NOT been approved by the FDA yet, but apparently, it's been used in Europe for 25 yrs. It is safe and effective and improves mood, fatigue, cognitive probs, sleep disturbance and overall functioning. It targets pain pathways in the brain, but is not addictive. It doesn't have any bad side effects, either. I have a really bad time tolerating prescription drugs. Two years ago, the FDA did give the company the go ahead to conduct studies here in the US, but it's going to take years before they approve it. Scientists discovered that us fibro patients have high levels of glutamate in our brains, and Effirma lowers glutamate levels in the brain, and when that happens, pain levels go down. This sounds very promising, but in the meantime...?? Thoughts anyone?
