A few years ago I was working in an office in Southern California that was having some "issues" with what I will label "office drama". It got so bad that the owner of the business had a motivational speaker come in to "talk" to us about our attitudes.
Most of it was very Zen/"chill out dude" stereotypical California laid back stuff which I totally zoned out on. But, there was one issue he discussed that really has stuck with me.
Humans have a "need" for drama. There are healthy ways to meet this need, and there are unhealthy ways to meet this need. Sky diving is a "healthy" way to meet you need for drama (providing your parachute opens and you don't land in a tree or shark infested water), but office politics is not.
I've thought alot about this back then, and recently. Back then, I got my drama fixes by spending time walking on the beach and watching the waves. I'm also fascinated by wild weather, and love murder mysteries that aren't too graphic.
While having fibro limits some of the things we can do physically, it's good to find ways to get some healthy drama in our lives.
Just a thought.
Blessings,
Jan

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
So healthy drama for me now is watching football or a good murder mystery.
Good topic!
By the way, I love murder mysteries too. Storms and waves are awesome as well.
