So i saw my Dr today on a cancellation she had because the past week to maybe 10 days im having a LOT more numbness in my feet and its going up my legs and by my thumb going into my arms plus a TON more pain than normal i mean i can barely walk i can just go to an appointment or to dollar tree or even be around the house and i will just end up in tears of pain from my feet and legs and i cant hardly make out one envelope before i am cramping and painful in my hands, my hands and fingers are VERY puffy and swollen as well. Lisa is going to help a lot with making the pies (i decided i didnt want store bought since i had help for thanksgiving) and with thanksgiving dinner there is no way i am peeling and chopping much at all right now! My Doctor is VERY concerned and ordering emg's and insists i talk to my semi retiring neurologist and tell her my Doctor IS going to send me to the pain management specilist in De Pere its near Green bay so a 2 hour drive for us. She said being on 5mg oxy and 750 mg robaxin (muscle relaxer) 100mg of lyrica twice a day and 800 mg motrin twice a day is NOT strong enough after seeing my MRIs of my back and how bad my neuropathy adn fibro are. She said could be right meds maybe not but the doses are NOT working for me! She said in teh 3 1/2 years shes been my Doctor my meds have not been adjusted once by my neurologist and i need help NOW she said. I am suffering way too badly right now and that can be prevented. She said i will need pain management the rest of my life and at 35 i deserve a much better quality of life. AND she said to slow down and not over do it so much even though she knows my moms needed my help and dad i need to pull back a little so tonight i asked if dad could make dinner mom said he could make BLTs he doenst have many things he can cook but hes learning more. Best BLT ever! Know why? mom sent me to bed and dad brought it to me and i didnt have to lift a finger while i rested iwht heat on me! My Doctor is giving me Voltaren cream again, bursitis is back and instead of in my left hip its in both but worst in my RIGHT ugh!!!! I can not win for anything unless its at how many dang things can go wrong at once causing me pain :( And she said rub it on my hands let is set in for 30 mins (away from the dogs and dont eat anything with it on my hands) then wash it off. Maybe it will help the swelling and posibly help the pain in that way. Okay writing all this took me 2 hours due to having to keep stopping with pain so i am going to stop here. I do not want the emgs they hurt so bad but we need to know what type of neuroapthy it is she said it is NOT my diabetes which my a1c is much better my reading was 114 on my blood work which was 2 hours after lunch and all my blood works great except white counts up. Oh and my lungs sound good except when i cough but she said im coughing itall away she thinks its allergiesand that my parents have propane heat so its dry and im used to hto water heat.

Good morning!Today I was reading up on this year's flu outbreak. It's not A-strain-dominated (y'know, our usual H-N friensd.) This year, looks like the uS is getting hit by B/VIctoria --- which isn't dangerous per se, but certainly isn't the usual "dominant" flu. So far, over 60 percent up to 70 percent of flu cases tested for strain? Yep. B/Victoria. (Named for Victoria, Australia.) And, be...

Self care and setting boundries is hard but very necessary. You are not in a position health wise to help your parents so much. They need to find other sources of help which may involve having to pay for it. This doesn't mean that you don't love them. It means that you are taking care of yourself and respecting your limits. I saw your post this morning about your pain levels and neuropathy. I'm not at all surprised. In order to have some quality of life and not get yourself into this situation which seems to happen a lot "no" should become a bigger part of your vocabulary. You'd be amazed what people can actually manage when someone tells them that. Just to be clear, I'm telling you this because I care and not to be mean.
I'm sorry that you need to have EMG's. They are not fun. I hope that the neuro will do something while you wait to see pain management. You need a break and to get back to your own house. Hugs!
