Ok, so I am trying to figure this whole situation out. I am on short term disability through my employeer, but that runs out in only one week. I tried to get an extension but was denied due to insufficient evidence. I am waiting to get into a specialist to provide further documentation but that may take upto a month to even hear from the specialist and then who knows how long I will have to wait until I actually get an appointment. So basically in the mean time I will have NO income and will have to pay for any specialist vistits, tests, etc out of pocket. I do not qualify for long term disability through my employeer until the end of February. I have read things mentioned about qualifing for medicare while waiting to be approved for SSDI which may solve the issue of paying for the specialist but I am really not familiar with medicare or how any of this works...
