If you go to the office of SSthe fist thing they will do is ste you up an appointment and then you have time to get all of your medical records in order, don't worry about the ones that are too old to get, the social security office will find them for you....
The next time you go ing you will probably be there for about 2 hrs inn order for them to get all of the info from you that they will need, I will have to come back to you to finish or you an remind me to do it B./C. chances are I will forget.....Love and respect....Helen
I wouldnt waste time doing it online for that very reason. Also you are not allowed to work while you have a disability case pending. Which of course just encourages people to work under the table, how in the hell are you supposed to eat, pay bills, buy a stick of frickin deodorant...
anyway, make sure you have a STRONG support system in place as this will tax you mentally big time.
AFTER you get disability if and when you get it as you most likely WILL get denied the first time....you are allowed to work after the fact but you just cant make over a certain dollar amount per month.
If you get denied the first time get an attorney. Dont play games with them.
Let me let another nasty lil secret out of the bag. If you were married before, I dont care how long ago, they will try and dig into that previous marriage to find out if there is any way possible they can milk money out of your ex so they dont have to pay you, yep roll up your sleeves honey its gonna be a bumpy ride.
I am just keepin it real, there was a lot I found out on my own and as a result I let others know what they could be facing.
best wishes hon
By the way avolon, I am not telling you this to discourage you. I just want you to roll up your sleeves and put on your boxing gloves and get ready. It always helps to know what you are dealing with ahead of time.
I do remember that chick in the SS office saying to me, and I quote, "I dont know why people think you always get denied the first time, that simply isnt true." She must think we live in a under ground tunnel. We NETWORK with people who network with others etc etc and before you know it their secrets are no longer secrets. They like to blow smoke up your skirt and tell you its windy, and other people will spill all of their trickery.
So if I go missing or end up wearing cement shoes in the bottom of a river, just know that I love yall LOL!
