I saw my allergist yesterday for my all over itching, rashes, hives, burning skin etc. My son has been doing his laundry at my house every Sunday for 3 months and using his own laundry soap and dryer sheets with scents and dyes. I switched long ago to scent and dye free not because of a known allergy but because of sensitive skin. My allergist thinks now I am allergic to the products my son has been using , that residue over time collects in the washer and dryer . I have to rewash all of my clothes, bedding, towels , well basically everything I own. UGH.
Anyhow , I thought it would be stupid to wash everything without getting the residue out of my washer and dryer first. I cant believe my allergist didnt tell me to do that first. For the washer I filled the tub with hot water and 4 cups of vinegar and let it soak for an hour before letting it go thru a wash cycle. Then I did another complete wash cycle with just hot water.
The dryer I am not exactly sure what to do. Do you think wiping it out with a diluted vinegar will work? I dont have a spray bottle handy to use and I am not going to go buy one , covid cases are high around here. I could use Bounty paper towel .
