Hello all. Well I had the extreme pleasure of getting to prove the stastic that most accidents happen near home. Mine happened right in front of my drive way. I was trying to turn left into my drive, when the teenage girl behind me decided she would just pass me on the left. She hit the front driver side of my truck and careened into my yard. My boys where in the truck with me and got rather shook up, though physically (Thank you, God) they are fine. Her dad showed up about 15 minutes after trying to say that I hadn't used a blinker and it was my fault. Now honestly, I am not sure if I used my blinker our not. I usually am pretty careful about these things, but I wouldn't swear to it. He seemed more concerned about their possible liability, then having a teenager behind the wheel that doesn't seem to understand basic driving rules. What if I had braked for a child who ran out in front of me? She could have hit the child by going around. Or hit another car head on. I am ranting now, but I must say this did sort of shake me up too. I am also in quite a bit of pain now as well. The truck seems to be ok (her car got the worst of it). The police report is filed, she got a ticket and is listed as being at fault. I have called the insurance company and have that taken care of. So why am I so emotional. I am just so not myself right now. I feel like I am overeacting, but my hands are still shaking. Thanks for letting me get this out.
