Hello my wonderful FMily!
I have a pecuiliar question. My ribs are hurting not just one but all of them. It feels like they are severly bruised. And the closer you get to the spine the worst that feeling is. My fiance was massaging me last night and I wanted to hit him to make him stop. But I knew if he didnt do it, it would only get worse. The only thing is I when my ribs arent touched they still hurt really bad. Sometimes so bad that it makes it hard to breathe like someone is choking me. Plus the top of my neck where my shoulders and spine meet, it is completely swollen (noticably) and the muscles are rock hard. I dont know what causes this. I know I haven't done anything out of the ordinary or strenuous too. So I am not sure what to do about it. Do any of you have this? Should I be concerned or is it just FM? I would love any suggestions or advice or stories you may have. I have just never seen a post about this.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Then again it could be another lovely symptom of your fibro cocktail. We all have our variations.
Sounds like something worth getting checked out either way.
I hope you feel better soon.
The pains in the ribs do correspond to the connective tissue problems of FM.
I'm not sure, check it out and then you can stop worrying, that is always my solution, since I have been told over and over by docs, that I, at least, wait too long to see them since I assume things are my CFS. And sometimes they aren't!
Since I didn't want to take anything I didn't have to, I came home and started researching it and came across myofascial pain and trigger point massage.
I located the offending trigger points, massaged them and was able to breathe again.
If you want any info, message me and I'll give you some links and whatnot.
I might add that most of my pain is myofascial in nature and the trigger point massage has enabled me to stay off pain meds.
