I was at BooksaMillion today and looking through all their fibro books. I was looking for the book Trigger Point but they couldnt even locate the one copy they had in stock.
But anyway I saw this book entitled Fibro for Dummies, it was yellow and black just like all the Dummy books are. I had to giggle about. Ijust glamce through them and all of them were literally the same info we find online.
Guess I will have to go to Amazon to get the Trigger Point book

This is probably going to sound like a mess because I'm a mess. I told you all that I was diagnosed with severe fibromyalgia flare in my thigh after going through a ton of tests. And I just don't want to get into it. I finally had a diagnosis and could get on with life even though I was still in excruciating pain. My surgeon sent me to a pain clinic. The first thing the doctor said was that I...
I have that book lol!
But your right, you'll find better info online.
Medicine moves almost as fast as technology sometimes. By the time a book comes out, it's at least 6 months behind with it's information.
Not everyone is inclined to go hunting on the Internet for information - some don't think about it - others don't realize there is so much there, and still others are overwhelmed with the amount of information that is out there.
For someone looking for the very basic and accurate information it's not such a bad place to start.
It does cover all bases of what we go through...even down to filing for SSDI.
HUGS to all!
The first book I got after dx was "You Don't look Sick" -- a friend gave it to me instead of keeping it for herself. She said she thought I needed it more. It's a pretty good read.
The have no idea what causes Alzheimers, MS, Lou Gehrigs, MD, AIDS, and a host of other conditions. That doesn't make them clueless - they're just not there yet.
Research is progressing - they are certain now that it's a CNS condition, not an auto-immune or arthritic condition as was formerly thought. That's real progress that will one day lead to more effective treatment, and even a cure down the road.
Until then, I'm grateful every day for the pain pills that allow me to get up and go to work every day and do all the other things I could not do without effectively treating my pain.
