I'm relatively new to this practice. I got this Dr.'s name from someone who also has FMS and said she is cured. I don't believe she ever had FMS now that I"ve worked with this dr. He is an OD and when I first met him I was really hopeful. He was considerate he read the page I brought him of all my medications I'd tried and my current symptoms and gave me my pain meds. He said he thinks FMS is just Candida--and if you eliminate gluten, sugar, yeast and dairy from your diet that you will be cured. So I tried that for almost a month but nothing happened! I had a little more energy but that was all. Then he said it was an emotional problem--so I went to counseling and was listed as clinically depressed and started Zoloft--still no difference in my pain but at least I wasn't depressed.
Then my feet went numb, then my hands and now my face. I started slurring my words and losing my memory. His PA said it might be diabetes or MS. I tested negative for Diabetes. I went in to see him yesterday and he was so cruel to me. I had just had a fight with my husband in the car on the way so I wasn't in the best mood and I cried during our appointment (which is never good because you automatically label yourself crazy). I asked him for alternative pain meds and he quickly said he doesn't give out ms contin or anything like that he said it is too strong and he doesn't believe in it. I told him, actually I wanted some non-narcotic options--he said to take advil. He said I must eat a lot of pasta because I'm overweight--I told him that I lost 12 lbs so far on weight watchers in 4 months (about 1 lbs per week). He said my neuropathy was stress related. I told him I had quit my college classes, taken a break from writing articles and had hired a mothers helper to hang out at the house twice a week. He ordered a head MRI which won't be approved by my insurance for a couple of days. He said he can't presribe anything for me to help the neuropathy (because he doesn't believe I have it). I told him I don't want to take medication anyway because I might get pregnant in the near future. He told him that it was stupid to try and get pregnant again.
What a jerk. I'm so angry and sad right now.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Please try to find a better Dr. There really are ones out there that care!
Hugs!
WHAT AN ARROGANT ASS !!!
OH HON, YOU NEED TO REPORT HIM !!
No one deserves to be talked to that way...i would have fired his ASS on the SPOT !!
you need to see a real Dr. someone that "First Does NO Harm"...he has HARMED you. please gather your strength and realize that...he had no right to say those things...

Time to look elsewhere. Don't worry, you WILL find someone who understands. I KNOW how infuriating dealing with someone you're supposed to be able to trust is....it hurts so badly!!!
I would report him ONLY IF...it doesn't cause you more stress than it's worth. But FIRST, get a new doctor. YOU are the priority here....not that jerk!
Love and hugs~

I may too very soon be looking for a new doc. I am in a flare, and have not taken any percocet for 4 days now, i am afraid that if and when i run out and call in for a script he is going to tell me no so i am really trying to hold off, but i feel like i have an elephant sitting n each shoulder right now, they are so heavy and burning.
I say start calling, ask when u call if that doc is familiar with or treats what condition you want to see that doc for.
Too many docs these days are overpaid and do squat for us.
I had the memory loss, slured speech, falling down, shortness of breath, numb hands feet burning pain. try b-complex and b-12 it will help. also exerice is so imporant..do what ever you can.. lots of fruit and veggies.. i was where you are a year ago,, you can get better.. but please find another dr.. don't let him treat you like that.. i am so sorry that you were treated like that..
TO have doctors dismiss your pain and agony in such a manner is against every oath a doctor takes.
I have learned over the years that if doctors don't know how to treat a patient, they will pass it off as a mental problem, or they say, well medicine is complex and there are so many factors to consider.. YEAH, well consider them Doctor! That is why we come to you for care!
I just can't stand it when the patient is treated so poorly.
I get myself to another doctor.. Have you considered getting a doctor to request as Dexa Scan? The scan will really show any and everything that is wrong.
Good Luck

Best of luck and don't give up. There are excellent doctors out there.
Love and God's Blessing,

there should be someplace we can write or call to complain about a doctor's behavior and if there isn't a place like that there definitely should be!!!!!
Sorry for the rant, but you deserve better! I hope you find it quick...hugs jilly
