well, got some not so good news this afternoon...so I was thinkin on completely changeing my diet...but have No clue how to go about it...
cholesterol free and gluten free diets...
I am a meat potato/real butter/egss & bacon kinda girl...prolly what sent my levels up near 400...YIKES...so I need a drastic change...this should benefit More then just cholestrol...also my pain levels and my 70 extra pounds I carry all day everyday where EVER I GO!!
I am still actively refuseing meds...which made my dr. hot enuff to almost throw me OUT the door...I understand his frustration...but what am I gonna do about it ?...my body my choice...the side effect list is quite long...and i am sensative to all other drugs i have tried...am SKEEEERED of hurting my Liver or my one remaining Kidney...
Plus I hear a gluten free diet helps immensly with the FM pain...and CFS fatigue...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
A vegetarian diet is becoming easier and easier to shop for. Most grocery stores will sell soy "meat" that is a passable substitute. You will need to be careful and learn how to combine foods into complete proteins. Because of my food restrictions, I had a difficult time getting enough protein and calcium. My best recommendation would be to go to the library and check out some vegetarian cook books and start collecting recipes.
You will also need to decide if you are going to eat milk products, fish or eggs. The benefits are wonderful. Weight loss will be easier. Also go to some natural food stores and see what kind of books they sell. They usually have some free handouts. Seventh Day Adventists, for the most part, are Vegans, so they are also a good resource.
There's a lot to learn, but just keep plugging away at it and you will learn what diet works best for you.
Good luck and happy eating!
