I just got accupunctured yesterday by an amazing chinese guy who was reccommended to me. I gather you can't accupuncture for fibro pain so I didn't ask for that, what I wanted was something for the extreme exhaustion that has enveloped me the last 3 weeks (as I have had pnuemonia) and I have to say it worked!
I walked out of there, visited some friends, went home, dunged out 3 huge barrow loads of horse doo, schooled two horses, cooked a meal and sat up till 11pm watching a movie!!! UNHEARD OF.
Just thought I'd pass that on in case anyone else is thinking of trying it - worth every cent!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

One time the pain was so bad after i was done my MIL had to come get me and drive me home.
The pain was too much for me to continue. That doc kept telling me, the next apt. will be better, u wont have pain, but everytime i went back the pain was just as bad, if not worse. When he inserted the needles, then turned them is what hurt. I could feel the needles turning.
After i quit going i have alot of pain in my nerve endings where he inserted the needles, of which is why im on the neurontin. The neurontin does help for the nerve ending pain, but isnt doing alot for the fibro pain.
I have been told that if the pain was that bad the doc that was doing it didnt know what he was doing, but im too scared to try it again. That is a pain i dont ever want to experience again.
Our insurance is changing Jan 1 and the new company will cover acupuncture. I can't wait!
I found that I had brief relief while with one practitioner, a very negative reaction with another and no reaction with yet a third. I moved a lot for a while, hence the changes.
In the end, I had to put acupuncture on the "too expensive" to uphold list.
Now massage for me is essential and I would love to find a Reiki practitioner again..
I think we are all pretty different in what works and doesn't, but also the difference in practitioners is as broad as it is in western medicine, fwiw.
