Today is a new day, I am trying to look at things with fresh eyes. I am looking for a doctor that treats fibromyalgia nearby. I am finding this about like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I am trying not to get discouraged. I have worked in the healthcare field for a long time and I know how medical professionals look at patients with fibromyalgia. I am a firm believer in "you can not judge any one elses pain" because the way pain affects one person my not be the way it affects me. Most healthcare providers do not relate to the fibromyalgia pain, so I am limited in places to vent because most of my friends are healthcare providers. My mom has fibromyalgia so she understands. She was so upset over my appoinment yesterday that she is wanting to write the doctor a letter. She was upset because he more less said in his own words that I was looking for disability. I have always worked full time and at several points in my life worked 2 or 3 jobs at one time. The only time in my life that I did not work was the first 3 years of my sons life, he was a premie. I have looked on a few sites that list doctors who primarily treat fibromyalgia and so far the closest is over 300 miles a way. If any one sees a doc in Arkansas or Missouri I would appreciate some advice. I am not going to be frustrated, I am just taking a deep breath and starting over. The doctor that my referal was sent to has to review my records and then decide how soon or if I need to be seen according to there receptionist. I am just starting fresh! I know I have my PCP in my corner.
