I got a phone call last night (that I missed) from one of my mom's friends. She was concerned because she had gotten a call from my mom freakin' out. Another friend kept trying to call her and couldn't get through. I didn't get the message 'til 3 a.m. so I went to bed and semi-worried all night.
I got a call from my mom this morning. She had another manic episode at the casino and lost an entire paycheck. Again. Then she got very depressed and became suicidal. My aunt took her to the hospital (aunt had told my brother not to call me since I had kids and it was late) and she was eventually taken home.
My aunt said she was going to put her into gambler's anonymous, which I thought was a great idea. My mom's also definately under a doctor's care. We'll see what happens. But now, once again, my mom has no money and no one in the family can help her out. We're already sapped.

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
As for her money situation umm that's a tough one. Maybe the Casino can be appealed to to give her back the money? Again it's an if but there might be laws and such in your area that can help. There usually are some legal aid charity in most cities so you can find one call them up and see what can be done.
In the mean time maybe she can stay with a family member. It might be the best thing for her long term to be cared for. The problem is who is willing to do it.
