My father is bipolar. It has destroyed our family in so many ways. My father is now in jail for fraud and is not given the proper treatment. He has always been in denial about it and has never asked for help. He loves his good times and we all have to sufer with the bad ones. Not only has it landed him in jail, but my mom is also in the process of divorcing him. As more and more things unravel in his life he is getting more and more hysterical. My father is a mean abusive person and right now he's scaring the whole family. I want to say "oh it's because he's bipolar" but honestly I think it's an excuse. What do I need to know about dealing with a bipolar person? I can't be on this roller coster ride of up and downs it is killing me. If anyone has dealt with a Bipolar parent- how do you cope?
