My son will be sentenced this month to prison for hitting someone while driving drunk. He is not a tough guy and is worried about the violence in prison. He broke a man's leg when he hit him and is remorseful. Instead of rehab, he gets prison because he was on probabtion for drinking. I know he deserves punishment for his poor judgement, but he is otherwise a wonderful son. He worked hard to get his college degree and has been a good and compassionate person when alcohol was not involved. We are all desperately concerned about what awaits him. Does anyone have any information about what he can expect? He will probably go to a medium security prison.
Thanks so much to all of you,

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I have a son ( i sorta adopted) he is in jail and he calls me everynite. he says that you have to watch your back and know is your friend in there. People come and go in there and you do not borrow anything or lend anything. People will steal your food and if you tell then you get beat up. I am not trying to be blunt about it but I think there should be no sugar coating. They get fed bologne sandwiches everyday. Sometime there is no air or heat and it is fend for yourself. They do have a minister that comes around to the jails and teach them about the bible. That is the group he needs to hang out with, but not to close. take care if I can help with anything let me know. I know it is better to talk to someone about these things.
