Since my husband was arrested in March of this year we put off doing the collect call phone service because of the bouncing around he did from several county jails and each uses a different phone service. However, when/if he gets sent to prison we have decided to go ahead with it since my visting him will be limited to once a month. How is the best way to keep costs down as far as the phone bills and still be able to keep in touch with one another? I've told him we may just have to keep it to once a week unless it is an emergencey but I am afriad the convience of it will create "emergencies" if you know what I mean.

My husband is in a Federal facility. He has 300 mins a month to use. I send him 70 dollars a month to cover those mins. I am not sure what the State facility protocall is but would think it would be the same, but not sure. So much cheeper to have them dial direct than to pay the high cost of collect calling. Hope this kind of gives you some insight. Good Luck!

I use Correctional Billing Services and the rate depends on the facility he's in. Like where James is it's $4.95 to connect and $0.89 a minute. He's limited to 15 minutes each phone call so that costs roughly $20. It's easier on the budget to set up a prepaid account than to let him call collect.

Our county facility has us set up an account so they can call collect. You can put it on a charge card for 25 or 50 dollars. We limit our phone calls to once a week and if we talk 10 minutes it is about 5 dollars. Otherwise, we write. Our company is global intel or something like it.

Georgia uses Global Tel Link as their prison telephone service. The cost is $5.50 for 15 mins., but you can only make $35 in calls per day, $150 in calls within 3 days, and a total of $200 per month. If you exceed that about the company will block the calls. Hope this helps. God Bless.

In MA, you can set up a pre-paid account for either 25.00 or 50.00 and a 20 minute call is $2.00 which is rather inexpensive compared to what I have seen. I put it on my debit card. They also accept credit cards for this transaction. Good luck!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
