is it better to pay a high price lawyer to work on my son's appeal, or should we depend on a court appointed one? i regret depending on the court appointed lawyer that my son had for his trial. i don't feel that he did enough to ensure my son a fair trial, he relied on the state proving it's case rather than putting on a defense. he advised my son not to testify. is it true that you get the kind of defense that you're willing or capable of paying for? my son means more to me than any material possessions, but i am afraid of being taken advantage of by an unscrupulous group of lawyers. has anyone ever had any dealings with lawyers from america's criminal defense group? they are from california. i live in massachusettes.
