My son called me today and I asked him why he was calling since he had just called last weekend. Well, he told me that when using the calling/phone card, the rates are now just $.10/minute! Now, a 15 minute phone call is just $1.50! That is like a $7 savings. He is in the Upper Pennisula at Kinross facility in Kinchleo. So, if you have your loved one using the phone cards, it is a lot cheaper to receive their calls now. Also, I think that the 15 minute time limit may have been lifted as, between my husband and myself, had spoken to him for at least 15 minutes before the recording came on and then it wasn't you have 1 minute left, it was telling him he didn't have enough money on his card to continue the call. So, you may even be able to talk longer if you have the money on the card available. That part is just a hunch though. Hope other Michiganders get to take advantage of this.
