On Valentines Day, when my son called he was down and said two inmates had died that day. One had complained of chest pains the night before and no one did anything and the next morning was found dead in his bed. The second inmate fell out while out on the yard and all attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Of course this was a very sad day, so anyway, I recieve a letter from my son this week just catching up on news and he tells me that there were two inmates still "in the hole" solitary confinement as punishment for TRYING TO HELP THE GUY WHO FELL OUT IN THE YARD AND GIVE HIM CPR!! Apparantly they broke the rule that no one is allowed to touch anyone else. I just think that is so sad, yes, I understand the need for rules, especially in a place like prison...BUT where does human decency and kindness come in?? Are these guards heartless? Just needed to rant today.
