I have a question. I am so new to this whole new way of life and with this being my first expierence with the jail system I am confused. I dont know if anyone can help me understand. My boyfriend received a 5 year sentence. His court appointed attorney told him when he took his plea that he would probally only serve 12 months because the jails are so crowded and his crime is of the non violent nature. He says that he is told from several other inmates that they have to serve 1/3 of their sentence which would be 20 months. Can anyone tell me how this works. How do the prison's decide how much time they have to serve and when do they review them for parole? I even went as far as to asking the DA if they would reduce his sentence and was told from them that he would serve his entire sentence. So who do I believe, the attorney? the DA? or the inmates in prison serving time? Thank you all so much!!

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
