My son just wrote to me that at the intake center he is not allowed to have books or magazines mailed to him from anywhere. They are simply not allowed to have reading material. They said that when he gets to his parent institution, he might be able to have them there. Question: Are you allowed to have books and magazines in regular prisons? Have any of you experienced your loved one NOT being allowed to have reading materials, except at intake centers? Thanks for your responses.
