I'm feeling so angry at the system. We saw my son over the weekend. He is more than 2 hours away, so we spent the night at a hotel so we could see him the next day too. Took my grandson, who is 11, along. He was two months old when this nightmare began. It was wonderful to see him playing cards with his uncle, but then i got so angry...it should not be this way. My kid isn't guilty. I know people say that, but even his co-defendants admit it, and the "witnesses" against him are the victim's family.
11 years of this, with 5 more to go. He mentioned that his case is at the Supreme Court. I'm praying that they are smart enough to read the transcripts and give him a chance. Hell, I'd settle for a reduced sentence at this point.
I feel so bad for those of you raising children alone. I know how hard it is for us to send him money, pay the phone bills, make sure he has some extras. I can't imagine doing that while feeding kids.
Do you get angry at him for putting you in this situation? I see how you're all worried about him, but honestly, I'd probably want to tell him that he's put you and your children in a horrible situation and he had no right. Sometimes I read your posts and just want to smack the man who is putting you through hell.
In my case, we are in a situation that spiraled out of control in minutes, it seemed. I just wish I had a magic wand and could make things better, but I wanted you all to know that I do understand and will listen if you need me.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
to see them adjust does our hearts good at times, but when the reality hits, be it wrongly accused, or a horrible horrible mistake, that rage (i call it momma bear) thing kicks in.. some people belong there, and some DONT!!! and yes, it makes me mad as hell!!
yes i get mad at him, first of all for taking himself out of our lives, and then for the additional hardship this has caused both sides of the family. then i feel guilty..(ahh the circle of emotions.)and yes, i want to smack him every so often, and then i feel guily about that too...it is such an ordeal for us to visit-it's a 8 hour ride and at least 100.00. like you said, in addition to calls, money on the books, etc it's really really hard. in the beginning, i had said we'll visit once a month--well, that came and went when the phone bills got high-225.00 on average. then i said phone calls or visits, not both. so, the last month the phone calls have slowed down, (i feel guilty) and still don't know when we can visit. makes me mad--really mad...
i hope that your case is heard by the Supreme Court, and that the 'right' thing is done~~and restitution paid.
From reading posts here, I find that the spouses/girlfriends are loving and patient.
In your case, you should be grateful. If he saved you prison time then I hope you're putting this time to good use and making sure that neither of you will ever go back to prison.
