Essential Tremor Support Group
Essential Tremor (ET) is a neurological disorder characterized by shaking of hands (and sometimes other parts of the body including the head), evoked by intentional movements. The incidence is unknown, but is estimated to be as common as one person in 20, and it is the most common type of tremor and also the most commonly observed movement disorder.
I stay away from caffeine, desserts, soda's, candy, anything high in sugar, to much calcium (noticed shaking with calcium supplements so in multi vitamins I always look for the lowest dose), potasium (bananas).
Basically sugars and stimulants, and things that stimulate muscle contraction since my wrist muscles don't move smoothly.
I notice cardio workouts also help burn the toxins out. I run on the treadmill and outside in the summer for my cardio.
One of my problems is I cheat. I might have a bon bon or some other dessert or get on a flavored yogurt kick (high in sugar so I switch to plain and have a table spoon in my hot cereal).
I stay away from juices (high in sugar). But like every diet, its hard to be perfect. But I am always trying to find natural ways.
I tried a lot of vitamins over the years but never found anything of those to work.
Hope some of this helps.
