Epilepsy (often referred to as a seizure disorder) is a chronic neurological condition characterized by recurrent unprovoked seizures. It is commonly controlled with medication, although surgical methods are used as well. Seizures (or convulsions) are temporary abnormal electrophysiologic phenomena of the brain, resulting in abnormal synchronization of electrical neuronal...
It seems like every answer on here is "talk to your neuro"... Aside from doing that, yes, I sometimes have a couple of days post sz where I walk into a room and forget why I went in there. That is one example of hundreds.
It's annoying, but I think the meds have their bit to play.
Can you repeat the question?
Could be your meds; but definitely is possible just as an after effect.
But not all bad news. I asked my GP about the problem as I get to enjoy more time, sounds better than older, how is he going to tell if it is absent or the big D starting? He sat there stunned. I have absolutley no idea. It will be so very difficult. I can give you a mini menal now if you like? Why, I am not having a blank moment now. Well no use giving you one, just really cant answer you on that. So folks, we may possibly never be able to be for sure be declared of unsound mind while other unfortunate people who forget things are. We are blessed.
Also, if it seems to happen mostly after a seizure, remember there is a post dictal state, even for a short time after a complex parital your brain has to recover. I was having 3-6 complex partials per day before my surgery on March 31st and I had that period for 10-15 minutes where I had more memory issues, word finding problems and such.. It was nothing like after my grand mal--but my brain still had a recovery period every time.

and i'm not on anything right now, but will be starting lamictal again soon.
good luck in adjusting to this; for example i'm a list queen now, lolz. everything is written down that i hope to remember later. it just takes a few moments but definitely helps with keeping organized.
take care and best wishes

I feel the same way you all have described. I often forget many, many things; Especially after I've been on depakote.
I have always been very dependable, and organized. Suddenly, I feel like I'm...."stuck on stupid" If that makes any sense, and what was once a career I enjoy, has now turned into a place I walk around aimlessly, clueless, and close to losing the respect of my colleagues. Darned if I do, and if I don't, my seizures will continue
I have to take a list with me when I go shopping just to play it safe or while talking I stand there thinking if I have finished what I was saying sometimes.
