My 11yr. old son had dental restoration surgery last Friday and I was wondering if anestheia can make you have more seizures?
He can't tell me what's going on with him so I have to play the guessing game. Since his surgery he has had 17 seizures, that is not common for him (usually he has 3 to 6 a week). His surgery was 4 hrs. long and he missed 2 doses of his med's, but should be back on track by now. How long does the anestheia stay in your system? I'm wondering if he had a reaction to the anestheia? He is set to go under again in 3 weeks, but I'm worried that this is going to happen again. The anesthesiologist assured me that this wouldn't interfere with his med's, but how can he be for sure. The anesthesiologist also gave him a pre sedation shot of versed to ease his anxieties. Is this to much? I'm confussed. I'll be calling the neuro before his next sedation appt.

Please get a list of what sedatives and anesthesia he was given! Report this to his neurologist when you call. This is the only way you will have your question answered properly.

I WILL TELL YOU SOMETHING, BECAUSE THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO ME, I MISSED JUST 1 TABLET OUT OF MY DAILY MED BY ACCIDENT,AND THAT DAY I HAD SO MANY FITS ITS UNBELIEVABLE, ITS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DENTIST ITS THE MEDICATION HE IS ON, AS LONG AS HE IS BACK ON TRACK HE WILL BE ALRIGHT. BUT EVEN ONE MISSED TABLET CAN MAKE YOU HAVE MORE SEIZURES,SO DONT WORRY. LOVE SHIRLXX

I have had this happen as well, I understand it is common. The anastisiologist told me it was not but my doctor said it was. After disscussing it with others I have found it to be common. They seem to calm down as the meds wera off. It is very exsausting but we seem to bounce back.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
