i have had plenty of seizures while out in public, usually we are sitting down and my husband is fully aware of what is happening to me, and is able to sit next to me so that no one knows what is happening. however sometimes we can't do that. so a few days ago as we are exiting the evacuation center i started to stumble away from my husband and then black out (usually i have some sort of warning and did not at that time) then when i did come to, i see of course hubby's face and about 20 other faces starring at me. people who i did not know, emts , red cross workers, and people who just wanted to help. which was nice of them and very much welcomed. the problem was that everyone just swarmed around us to help me and our 6 year old son just kind of got pushed out into the crowd away from us and my husband was trying to keep me from hitting the floor and answer questions that the emts were asking him. my meds were just upped and i was staggerung a lot so yeah i could have passed for being drunk! so just as nathan was starting to freak and scream for our son a friend of ours popped her head into the crowd and said "i have jesse and i'm taking him to the kid's area" it was instant relief for nathan. jesse has a wallet w/ his id in it, and an id necklace but he don't like to wear it. so we usually put a business card w/ all phone numbers in it. we also told him that if that happens again to hang on to daddy' leg and not to let go. other than that, does anyone have any other ideas? that was really scarry!!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
So back then we actually talked to him about what to do if "mommy and daddy ever got lost". Now we just told him what to do if he can't see mommy and daddy and there are lots of people around. (so it would apply anywhere--not just if I had a seizure)
Find someone in a uniform, and if you can't do that--stand on something tall--you know like a bench a table a planter--hes a boy he would figure it out--anyway--then he would see better and other people would see him better--see if he oculd see us then..if not....
THEN FIND A MOM......find someone else with kids if you can't find us or someone in a uniform. Another mom is going to be the next best person to find if your kid can't find a person in uniform.
Then he is suppose to tell them "Excuse me, My mom and dad seem to be lost...I need someone to help me find them." When he was 4 he learned his full name, where his mom and dad worked, what city he lived in and 2 phone numbers to call. We have made sure to update that info with him. Now thats hes almost 7 its second nature to him.
