My son has had febrile seizures since he was 6 months old. EVERY seizure has been related to ear infection. Is it unreasonable for me to request they place tubes in his ears? He is 4 years old. When I bring it up to the doctor he always says that it is the temperature not the ear infection that causes the seizure. I understand that but if your ear is able to drain and there will be less infection wont there be less opportunity for fever? Maybe I am wrong about this. I just do not understand the hesitency for giving tubes if it can decrease seizures. Any help would be great.
