Dont you love how people make big deals about how October is Breast Cancer Awarness Month..and the schools make the kids wear pink? stores sell pink things and stuff. August is this and September is that. Walks all over the country in every state. Items sold and proceeds go to that foundation. November is Epilepsy Awarness Month. Why are there not numerous walks in every state, purple items sold where the money gets donated to the Epilepsy Foundation. Why dont schools say a fact everyday as they do with the other months. Why sdont they have a purple day to support epilepsy awarness? Yes, i know epilepsy is not a well known disease but as more and more people every day are being diagnosed with it why dont they start to make people aware. Seizure saftery, warning signs.. everything like that. Not to say that other disease are not important because they are, but why leave epilepsy out? Do you agree? I would love to hear your input on this discussion.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
It is up to each of us to speak up, do our part to try to find opportunities to share at schools, places of business, and in public about EP.
1. I am contacting the schools in my area to see if they will allow me to come talk to teachers during a teachers meeting OR hand something out to teachers that includes links to websites they can visit.
2. I am going to the PTO meeting for my sons school this week to do the same.
3. I am trying to (though it has been hard) to contact the major employers in my area and get a hold of their "safety" coordinator and department heads. Most large employers have a safety coordinator. This could become a topic in safety meeting.
4. I emailed the link to Dr. Hilary Jones online video to everyone I knew.
The biggest thing is IF YOU DO THIS make sure the information you give is ACCURATE INFORMATION!!!
The video given online by DR. Hilary Jones from the UK is very good. You can also even just print info from the epilepsy websites to give out or go over. but at least your doing something!!
