Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
As someone that has had severe endo for many years all i can say is please don't take everything that your surgeon tells you for gospel. Yes it is possible to fall pregnant as i already have a son and am five months pregnant at the mo:) I was told that i would not be able to have kids, but me being me was not willing to accept that and i'm very glad that i didn't have a hysterectomy:) When the time is right it will happen:)
However, don't let them feed you that hysterectomy line; hysterectomy is not a cure -- the endo can still come back and there are documented cases. According to an article in Prevention Magazine (and on CNN.com), the hysterectomy is the number one surgery that is preformed unnecessarily.
