Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

I had a laparoscopy about three weeks ago and started the Lupron shot about a week ago for endo. Symptoms have been localized pain on my left side and immense bladder pressure for 11 months now.
Symptoms have been severe these past few days. I heard being on the Lupron shot that "it gets worse before it gets better".
Does anyone know if this is accurate and if so, is there anyone with experience with the shot improving their symptoms?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. All I can find online is horror stories of Lupron. It is making me very nervous. Not to mention the pain is debilitating.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
My dr told me I should be on the shot for 6 months to a year, but I have read that no one advises being on it for more than 6 months at a time. I don't know why he would have suggested that.
I had hot flashes the first three days, but now I have more cold chills. Its weird. The pain is severe and it is hard to function.

I need to find a new dr though...he doesn't seem to give me all the facts and he told me to stop "crying on my mother's shoulder" and to "get out of the house more."
I asked about "add-back" and he said only if I need it. I am a little put off by that because another concern of mine is the bone loss.
Thanks for all the help!

I have to be honest with you, the pain is the same, and I just don't bleed anymore. I suffer from hot flashes and night sweats, for this I am taking Norethindrone twice daily. I pray the injections work for you. The injections helped the first time. When I stopped having them my endometriosis came back with a vengeance and a cyst to top it off! This is my second round with the injections; my hysterectomy is scheduled for December 2007. Good Luck, once again I hope it works for you.
