Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

One of my friends recently told me that her ob/gyn said that endo was the beginnig stages of insulin resistance and that after endo comes PCOD, weight gain and all the other stuff that comes along with it. Just wondering if anyone has any info on this.

I have never heard of this at all, it sounds a bit odd to me. But then I am not in the medical profession so I can't really comment. Although from being treated like a guinea pig for many years I have lost faith in the medical system. May be your friend has got confused with the hormone side of things and the doctor has used an illustration which has confused her further. I just don't know! But if yu do get any further information to back this theory up I will be quite interested to hear it.

I have never heard that either. That doesn't sound right to me. I know that PCOS and insulin resistance can run together but I have never heard that about endo. In fact, I asked my GYN about diabetes b/c it runs in our family and he didn't mention it being related to endo in any way. ??? HTH

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
