What do you do to prepare for upcoming periods?
One thing that may may this disease a little easier to deal with is knowing that it has a cyclical nature. Period is mid-month and so I know not to plan activities or expect too much during that time.
I am preparing by trying these herbal teas and getting extra rest.
The thing that\'s hard is that when I\'m feeling better, I make commitments and then I have to bug out because I wind up getting cut down.
Any tips help.

I can relate. Planning doesn't always work. I find I have to seize the very few days I am feeling well...call someone up and try to make use of the energy and decrease in pain.

I've found that it helps if everyday I go for a walk. I can't do any of the things I used to do like rollerblading, or running...But I can still walk. Also, if your doc hasn't given you pain meds, it might help if you take something like motrin or advil every couple of hours or so. DON'T WAIT TILL THE PAIN GETS BAD. If you know that your time is coming, start taking something that will releive the pain. Also, try to go for a walk everyday if you can. Just a slow walk and fresh air might help. They say that active women have less painful periods, and I'm finding that it helps a little. Also, try sleeping sitting up. I sleep sitting up at just a little less than a 90 degree angle, and I find that it helps me move around easier when I wake up. It still hurts, but it's easier to get going.

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
