I tried to find a community on ovarion cysts I couldn't find one. I have heard that some women with Endo also have them. Also I wanted to post my story on womens "simple" surgeries. This will be long but please read this before you go in for any surgery involving reproductive surgery. This is NOT ment for anyone to not have surgery but to educate. I went July 29 2006 to the ER in extreme pain in mu pelvic area. I had a c-section and hysterectomy (left my ovaries intact) 4 years before this. I ended up having a cyst the size of a football in my ovary. It required emergency surgery that night. The surgeon reassured me that this was a simple procedure and I would be back to work in 4 weeks. While she was in there she "lost her way" because of all the adhesions that formed from my hyster. She "accidentally" cut my bowel and sewed me back up. I was discarged 3 days later and was told to come in for a follow up the next week. I was really sick and could keep nothing down. The pain was horrible. I called her and she said give it more time. 8 days after surgery I went back to the ER with a bowel obstruction and was treated and released. 10 days after surgery I saw my surgeon and had lost 15 pounds, vomiting and pain. I was ignored and sent home. 14 days after I was rushed to ER with feces leaking out of my vaginia and incision. Rushed to surgery with new surgeon. A month in hospital with NG tube and on feeding iv. Allowed to eat 30 days later and all hapened all over again. Another surgery to put in a colostomy bag. I had a severe infection that I fought for 6 months. I had drains in that went from my butt cheek all the way into my pelvis to drain the 6 inch absess that ate through the front and back of me. I had a total of 6 surgeries to get me to this point. I finally had the ostomy reversed in Jan 2007. I have another surgery to go to repair the 12 inch scar that runs up and down my abdomin. My stomach looks horrible I have about 20 incisions on it and It is caving in. At one point I weighed about 70 lbs and I was dying. I just want everyone to know that simple surgeries can turn into nightmares. I am unable to work now and we are financially ruined. I have fibro and cf now from the infections. Ibs from all the bowel problems. Adhesions because ther was no barrier used. You sholud always make sure your dr uses one. I am in severe pain and I can't feel it when I have to have a BM so I have to use an ennema bag every time I leave the house. I have had "accidents" in public and it is so embarassing. I can't get intimate with my hubby because of all the reconstruction that had to be done. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! DON"T EVER LET ANYONE OPERATE ON YOU UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY AND MAKE SURE THEY USE A BARRIER TO PREVENT ADHESIONS! Thank you for the space and your time-Suzi
