I found out about five months ago that my husband of 31 years had been having an emotional affairs for over two years. It began where he worked. She started to call his voice mail and leave messages. He would then checked those messages on the way to work at 5:00 a.m. in the morning! He got fired from that job, and he then continued to call her from his cell phone. She even got a cell phone so they could stay in touch more. He was calling her on the way to work at 5:30 a.m. to give her a "wake up call". Then it was voice mails back and forth throughout the day, calls after work, up until I came home from work. This got so bad that he was making over 200 calls a month! I only found out because I checked the cell phone bill one month. I had no idea! We have been married for a very long time, were getting along at the time, and he has hinted that it was MY fault! Said I was only concerned about myself. The trouble is - he was still talking to me, we were going about life quite normally. He has broken off the affair - has not spoken to her since I found out. Said that he loved me during that time, and he had no intention of leaving me. We went to counseling; however, I am having an extremely difficult time with this. He won't really talk about it. Said he talked to her about everyday things. I don't believe him, and I think that he was very emotionally involved with her. I am trying to work through all the feelings, but I have NEVER experienced anything like this.
