Hello. In 2008, after years of back and joint pain I went to a new back specialist who, after the physical exam, review of x-rays / mri results and lots of questions about my childhood, told me I had Hypermobility Syndrome. She did not explain further except to say that is why I developed my back and joint issues so young. It made sense to me because I was always so extra flexible, as was my older sister. I was also very prone to sprains and had weak unstable ankles. My mom used to tease me that I was put together too loose. However it wasn't until a couple weeks ago that I learned that Hypermobility syndrome is actually a form of EDS. Reading some of the posts on here has started making some things I've been dealing with make more sense. Now I want to learn more about it so I can understand how it has affected me.
