Eczema Support Group
Eczema is a form of inflammation of the upper layers of the skin. The main symptoms are skin rashes characterized by redness, skin edema, itching and dryness, with possible crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing or bleeding. Eczema can be extremely physically and socially uncomfortable. If you're an eczema sufferer, join the group and get support.
Is your comment a question or a statement?
But yea, anti bacterial soap thins the skin wall, as does steroids.
Also they are finding the compounds in such soaps in the blood of a very high percentage of people tested.
In other words, it ate through the skin wall, and keeps on eating.
I mean, bacteria are people too.
Normal people's skin produce certain proteins which reduce the growth rate of undesirable bacteria like S.A. People with eczema lack or produce these targeted antibacterial proteins at much lower rates (because they inherited defective versions of the genes involved), allowing S.A. to grow faster, causing the inflammatory response we see. Therefore people with eczema do not have a normal bacterial diversity. In lieu of a discriminating antibacterial solution, it's better to use an indiscriminate antibacterial during infections than none at all because infections are really bad for the body as a whole, not just the skin. Killing all the bacteria, taking the load off the skin's immune system functions, allowing the skin to heal, is better than leaving it infected.
Once healed though, there's no need to use antibacterial products, and it's better to allow the skin to manage itself & allow the bacteria to return to their normal numbers (they divide very fast).
BTW soap of any kind is very bad for eczema, even dove. Never use soap if you have eczema.
And are you saying use antibacterial soap? Or are you saying use no soap?
Moisturizing feeds candidas too.
You know, that's just not an option for most people.
Do you think I want to go to work with skin flakes snowing down my clothes ? You want me to walk to the city with my neck, elbows and knees agonizingly stiff like cardboard, cracking and bleeding ?
Healthy skin moisturizes itself -- does that "feed the candidas" also ?
I am saying ivory is fine if it is the best you can do.
And with that said, again;
In the doctors prescriptions post (thread) you said you never take anti biotics.
This is a hug to stix24 from you;

I was there last week, it's the worst. Now clear and back to 'normal' (had to take antibiotics though). Plenty of salt baths. Keep fighting it, it will heal.
You've posted that message on at least three threads now! I already answered it.
It's an indication of the infrequency of my antibiotic use that I forgot that one time in 30 years.
My son USED to have ezcema on his tummy, arms, legs. He only has mildly red area under chin right now. USE PRObiotics!!! Eczema is your body's problem of being unable to retain moisture in your skin. Thus, you have dry skin patches. You can use lotions which treat the symptom. If you want to treat the root causes, one which is very likely to be your skin not getting enough vitamins. Then you may want to take something like:
1/4 scoop (daily) GNC: Digestive Health Powder(AWESOME PRODUCT). It contains prebiotics, PRObiotics and digestive enzymes that help breakdown and absorb the nutrients from your food better. All your organs improve especially the largest one that takes more vitamins... YOUR SKIN. Take a product like this for about a week. You may be VERY surprised at the improvement.
Note you should be taking a multivitamin and fish oil along with a good diet that includes fruits, veggies, lean meat, long grains and water.
Oh yeah, take warm.. not hot showers since the heat pulls more moisture out of the skin.
Probiotics helped clear up about 80% of my kid's eczema in less than a week. I had to do the research to find this information since all the doctors only suggested lotion that did NOT clear up the problem. See your doctor to find out if probiotics can help you.
Please let me know if this worked for you.

Bacteria and Eczema: Eczema is an Immune System Disorder (atopy), and 75% of your Immune System is found in your Gastrointestinal Tract where 3 to 4 pounds of bacteria reside.
