However, don't panic too much, you have to drink a serious amount in a short space of time for this to happen. Try to stick to2 litres a day, unless you are exercising, then you need to up it slightly.
If you drink that much water and you feel unnaturally full, cut back. Safe water drinking practises dictate that the doctor recommended "eight glasses a day" is just an estimate. There is no set amount that you should take in- it's up to you. You feel thirsty, have some water. You quench the thirst, you stop. Just like food, an average body will send signals. If you notice that you are obsessively thirsty, this is indicative of some bodily dysfunction that needs attention and should be immediately addressed.
